Adilah Yelton of Ibu Doula, mother of four, birth doula and childbirth educator, shares postpartum traditions from the country with one of the lowest rates of postpartum depression in the world, Malaysia.
Hi, I’m Adilah Yelton, a mother of four beautiful children, and a wife to a beloved husband. Born in Saudi Arabia, I moved across the world as an oil industry baby, living in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Scotland, Texas and New York. I offer birth doula services and childbirth education classes. My goal in being a doula is to help educate, offer support and comfort during your pregnancy along with labor, to ultimately provide a positive experience. I have attended over 60 births and support all families in their decisions on how and where they would like to give birth. In the summer of 2019, I launched my Malay traditional postnatal care and services for mothers. The word “ibu” means mother in bahasa, I am a doula to all mothers.
